Episode 2: Seattle Waterfront Swings
Location: Seattle Waterfront by Ferry Terminal
Directions: From Pioneer Square, walk 0.4 miles down to the Seattle Ferry Terminal. The swings are just to the right of the terminal (when facing Elliot Bay). Or walk 0.6 miles down from Pike Street Market and enjoy the new waterfront park.
Chair Type: 8 "chair like" metal swings with armrests
The new Seattle Waterfront Park officially opened on September 6, 2025 after 20+ years of planning and construction. It replaced the old Alaskan Way Viaduct and exposed beautiful views of Elliott Bay, created green spaces, and connected Pike Place Market to the shoreline and ferries. The swings are one of the gems of this new park and is a hit with both adults and children alike. This free amenity is great for those waiting for the Bainbridge ferry next door, or just anyone enjoying the walk.
In addition to great views of Elliott Bay, the swings are marvelous for people watching - or striking up conversations with families (as parents are always grateful if you give up the swing for their kids).
